Mace was extremely well described and I loved the way both characters seemed to understand and accept each other. This was my first book about asexuality, but I think the author did a great job in describing it. He deserved better and he wasn't afraid to ask for more. He melted my heart when he confessed to Mace that he doesn't want to be hurt again. He was exactly what Mace needed and I loved him even more when he helped Mace without pushing him. I really loved the way the writer described his struggling and especially Mace's guilt, the way he tried to accept the death of his brother and also his choices.ĭex Hammel was such a nice character, sweet, protective. And I even got much more than I expected. This only made me want to discover his story. His character is basically stripped bare from the start: he's 19, he works as an escort, he's submissive but has no carnal urges (asexual), he wants to be punished for causing his brother’s death. Of course I wanted to discover more about Mace. I think it reveals enough to attract your interest. For once I felt it didn't reveal TOO much. I really enjoyed Gene Gant's writing style. Having only 100 pages I read it in one standing, but I think I would have done the same even if it had 300 pages. This story captured my attention and it kept me glued to the pages from the first to the last. It is my first book by Gene Gant, but it's not going to be the last.
